Just a quick post to say…

I did it! I’m a college graduate.

And now I’m finding my way in the real world, sorting through moving, unpacking, making furniture, frequent trips home for wedding planning & events – and starting a real job (!).

Please bear with me while I regain my footing – regular posts will resume soon.

To the next adventure…!

Trying this out

I’m not sure how I feel about blogging. I wasn’t good at sticking with journals as a kid (somewhere in my room or in my attic is a box of notebooks with three or four entries about the current loves of my life in sixth grade) (they’re embarrassing). And I don’t really think I’ve got anything to say that other people would find particularly interesting.

But.

I’m sort of having the most exciting, interesting summer I can remember for a long time. So there’s that, and a few people have suggested to me that I start a blog to write about it, but the problem is that I can’t really write about it, honestly, until it’s over. Cryptic enough?

So if I haven’t chased readers away yet, if you’re interested for some reason, bear with me. I’ll try to remember to update and I’ll try to be as forthcoming with details as possible. Here’s what I can tell you: I’m about to be a junior at the George Washington University in DC. I write for the independent student newspaper, The Hatchet. I’m also a House Proctor, which provides me with endless entertainments and frustrations and stories. I’m from Massachusetts, I love Boston sports, and I’m interning for one of the teams I love this summer. I like reading, writing, baking, sleeping, unreasonably sunny romantic comedies, music, rainy days and eating cappuccino foam. I have the most incredible friends in the entire world.

Also, today at work, I discovered the coffee maker. Then I made Milky Way-flavored coffee. It was interesting. I still prefer Starbucks.

So that’s it. Nothing earth-shatteringly interesting about me, but tomorrow is my day off and I was planning on baking. Maybe cupcakes. Or maybe I’ll sleep all day.

Stick with me, and I promise I’ll get the hang of this blogging thing eventually. At the very least, I’ll try, and it should be pretty fun to laugh at the mistakes I make along the way.

And finally, the thing that made me smile today: I was walking to work and I, being in Boston, just ran across a street without really making sure there was a light for me to go or something. And a car screeched to a stop and a man rolled down his window and yelled “You bettah be goin to the Sawk game or theah’s no excuse fah walkin in front of me, you got a wicked death threat or somethin?!”

And I burst out laughing.
